Puducherry Governor Mr. Bhopinder Singh made a sudden visit to Jipmer Hospital, Puducherry Government Medical College(under construction), and Pondicherry University on Thursday, May 08, 2008. When he arrived to Jimper, Dean Mr.K.S.Reddy and Hospital Supervisor Dr.Ramdec greeted and explained about the hospital’s functionalities as well as medical treatment as a response to Mr.Bhopinder Singh questions. The Governor visited the cardiology department, research centre, and other main departments.
The Governor also visited Government Medical College which is under construction in Kathirkamam. He was by accompanied by Health Director Mr. Dilipkumar Palika and College Principal Dr. Ananthakrishnan while ing about the progress in construction works and what percentage of work has been completed. He asked all the officers to speed up the basic construction works of Puducherry Medical College without sparing time in unnecessary building works. After insisting on the quicker work, Governor visited Pondicherry University before reaching Rajnivas.
