Happy Sornavari Paddy Harvesting in Puducherry & nearby Villages

Second session of sornavari paddy harvesting is taking place in Puducherry and in the surrounding villages. Though agriculture is the main occupation in the union territory, handsome of quality paddy production plays a main role in Pondicherry economy.

Women labors are happily harvesting the well grown crops in the below photograph.


Wrapped bundles of paddy crops are taken to the next process where paddy and rice will be removed separately.
A women heaps a huge mountain of paddy after the dust removing process. In most of the case people started to use machines for this purpose. As a next step, paddy will be collected in large bags for sales or export purpose.
